Miss Universe 2023 is Miss Nicaragua
On Saturday, the title of Miss Universe 2023 was bestowed upon Miss Nicaragua following an exciting evening of competition at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Amidst palpable tension, Miss Nicaragua, Sheynnis Palacios, and Miss Thailand, Anntonia Porsild, stood shoulder to shoulder, their hands intertwined, as the auditorium was plunged into darkness, save for a solitary spotlight that illuminated the two finalists.
Following a prolonged silence during which both women eagerly awaited the announcement of the winner with their eyes shut, a voice suddenly broke the stillness, exclaiming, “Nicaragua!” The newly crowned Miss Universe, the 72nd titleholder, was overcome with emotion as she received the coveted crown. Tears streamed down her face, and she covered her mouth with her trembling hands as the audience erupted in cheers.
Miss Universe 2023 | Winning Answer
The contestants who made it to the final round were taken through a series of four challenges: showcasing their elegance in evening attire, flaunting their physique in swimwear, expressing their personal beliefs and aspirations, and engaging in thorough discussions with the judges.
“I would chose Mary Wollstonecraft because she opened the gap and gave an opportunity to many women,” she said through an interpreter, referring to the 18th century British writer, philosopher and advocate of women’s rights.
“And what I would do, I would want that income gap [to] open up so that women could work in any area they choose to work in because there are no limitations for women. That was the 1750s. Now in 2023, we’re making history.”
Miss Universe 2023 Top 3 Finalists
The three Miss Universe 2023 finalists, Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua, Anntonia Porsild from Thailand, and Moraya Wilson from Australia, were announced on Saturday in San Salvador, El Salvador. Each of them wore stunning custom-made gowns, adorned with sparkling embellishments like sequins, pearls, and rhinestones.
The reigning Miss Thailand opted for a daring, see-through gown adorned with sparkling crystals and delicate star-shaped embellishments, courtesy of Myriad Monde.
The current Miss Australia, donning a luxurious cream-colored corset dress, boasts an eye-catching crystal-adorned star motif, skillfully crafted by the acclaimed fashion designer, Alin Le’ Kal.
The newly crowned Miss Nicaragua donned a stunning gown adorned with crystals and pearls, featuring cutout shoulder details and nude crystal-embellished gloves. The dress was a nod to her country’s flag.
